As energy flows through your chakras, the earth energy is the grounding force which holds the space for all the chakras. It is the foundation of all your energy centers. When you are grounded, you are communicating to the spirit of the earth, the heartbeat of the earth frequency which reminds you that you are balanced in this physical world.

The root chakra energy which begins to flow at the base of your spine represents the energy of stability, structure, foundation, safety, and security. When you are grounded, balanced, and connected to the flow of earth energy, you feel a sense of belonging in the world, a deeper understanding of who you are, and a sense that you are nurtured and protected.

When the root chakra is out of balance or there is a block in the flow of energy, then there is a tendency towards addictions such as food addictions or a sense of feeling incomplete or confused in relationships or jobs. Physical symptoms of a blocked root chakra include digestive issues and blood circulation problems.

Your emotions are a main driving force of your chakras, and the root chakra carries the emotions of trust or distrust, being separate from others or connected to oneness, feeling a firm foundation or feeling that you are floating and not sure when making decisions.

Shifting the energy which flows through your root chakra begins with visualizing that you are firmly rooted into the energy of the earth and are a part of the physical world. Spending time connecting to nature, feeling as though you are an interconnected part of the earth and the energy which moves through the earth, helps to build a sense of stability.

Grounding your physical body, in a sense anchoring your spiritual body among your physical experience, can also be achieved by carrying crystals such as tourmaline or red jasper. These grounding crystals carry an energy vibration to remind you of the earth energy and give you a sense of “I am connected to the earth with love.”

Opening your heart to the inner dialogues such as “I am grounded in all circumstances” or “I am present in the here and now” or “I am safe and secure,” give your spiritual body a reminder that you are here for a physical experience and may safely walk your journey in this life.

Being grounded, and balancing your root chakra resides in the present moment of everything you do. When you feel that your spirit is unstable or facing a challenge that rocks that sense of safety and connected line of energy to the earth, tell your heart that it is okay to breathe a little deeper, enjoy more moments of silence, or pray or meditate in a manner which illuminates the calmness within you and reconnects you to Mother Earth.

Do you ever wonder what messages the divine has for your soul? In that moment of allowing your crown chakra to communicate the truth of who you are, you trust that what feels right in your heart is where you must go in this life.

Before opening and balancing the crown chakra, begin with connecting to the earth and grounding your energy through the root chakra. Once you have this strong connection to the earth, you can begin to balance your other chakra centers such as the sacral, solar plexus, heart, throat, and third eye working your way up all your energy centers until you reach the crown chakra. Your soul seeks this balance and harmony, and the true balance lies within the heart as it is there that both the earth and the cosmos come together in a rhythm which flows with the energy of you.

When you are ready to heal and balance your crown chakra and receive the messages from divine love, begin to choose activities which connect you to this higher spiritual truth. Laughter is the Sunshine for Your Soul: Healing Chronic Illness with Light Energy

There is an old saying that “laughter is the best medicine.” When I was in my first year of college in 1989, I began my journey into studying mind-body-medicine by writing a research paper regarding the power of the mind to heal the body. Today, if I was writing that same paper, I would probably extend it a little further into the power of the spirit and the soul to heal through light energy.

In performing research for my college paper, I read a few books that stood out to me at the time as radical in their thoughts regarding healing such as The Healing Power of Humor by Allen Klein and Anatomy of an Illness by Norman Cousins. I became fascinated by the idea that a serious illness could turn around by healing through laughter and by focusing the mind on positive thoughts and memories.

Energy Imbalances

After my first year of college, I experienced an illness that gradually overcame my own life as I developed chronic fatigue and chronic pain. For many years, I found no answers to the symptoms, no resolution or secret method or treatment to improve my energy, and not one practitioner who understood what I was feeling was real.

I managed to spend over 20 years of my life in a depleted energy state never realizing that it was possible to recover and live a happy life. I never thought I would find peace and wellness. It was not until I nearly died from complications from the illness, as it became exacerbated by severe stress, that I finally looked at every part of my life and for the first time met my soul.

Recovery Through Mind, Body, and Soul Healing

During my recovery, I communicated with angels and guides who helped me to understand how to heal my mind, body, and soul with light energy. I began to practice positive affirmations, meditations, and I spent a lot of time in nature journaling about the healing process.

I learned about how the energy of the soul becomes affected by the environment, stressful conditions, thoughts, emotions, and even circumstances hidden in the subconscious mind from earlier experiences in this lifetime or even other lifetimes.

The Healing Power of Laughter

The most important thing I learned was the power of the soul to connect to light energy through laughter. In laughter, the soul relaxes and connects back to its true state and for a few minutes the laughter heals. The laughter parts the clouds and releases stuck energy. The laughter reminds the soul that life should be fun!

In the hardest times in life, sometimes we forget how to laugh again, how to connect to the fun, how to let our guards down and just be free. Let the sunshine of laughter into your life. Find many moments to laugh, to ignite your spirit, and to allow your soul to be you, the you filled with love energy, the you connected to the divine, and the you 100% being your soul you.

Have you ever thought about how much energy it takes to carry around old thought patterns and emotions? Do you ever feel like it is hard to let go of conflicts or do you feel yourself getting stuck and unable to move forward on your soul path?

Old Energy is a Heavy Load to Carry

Carrying around the weight of old energy is like pulling a heavy load of bricks. As you go through life, if you don’t release stagnant energy and allow transformation to occur, you begin to build a pile of these bricks. Staying on this path of carrying old energy forward then leads to an accumulation of old energy patterns, blocks, and a sense of emotional, physical, and mental overload.

Although you may be carrying the past forward as though you need it in case of an emergency, I am here to tell you, that it is okay to let things go. Starting today, I want you to identify what is holding you back from living the best life possible, what is keeping you locked into the old energy, routines, and habits, and what fears are preventing you from moving toward what you really desire in life.

Identify Old Energy:

  1. Identify Old Energy. Make a list of any old energy that you feel is a burden to you, that keeps you locked in place, and that limits your abundance and connections to happiness and peace. Consider old habits, patterns of thinking, beliefs, and fears, and anything that connects to your past and is not serving your higher good. Especially make note of anything that originated from one specific event or experience, a relationship, or from your family ancestry. Forgive yourself and others for the past. The act of forgiveness heals your soul and other souls as well.
  2. Awareness is Key. Become aware of how you can change these old patterns, beliefs, and fears into new modes of thinking, feeling, and experiencing life. If there are activities, jobs, or hobbies you have always wanted to try, now is time to put the wheel in motion and start living from your soul, without fear, and only love for you.
  3. Action Propels Your Soul. Start to take steps every day towards the new energy that aligns with who you are as a soul, your passions, and what path your soul wishes to travel. Create new positive thoughts, focus on the positive events and emotions in your life, and create your life and the people and experiences that you choose based on what your soul needs.
  4. New Energy of You. Once you have identified old energy patterns, increased your awareness of how you can change your energy, and committed to the action steps towards your passions, you create new energy and it is the energy based on love not fear. The new energy connects with your heart and your soul, and every choice you make is based on what is right for you. In the new energy, you no longer need to worry about what others think is best for you or what challenges you experienced in the past. You get to live your life from your soul and have fun in the process.

Have you ever noticed how you breathe? Do you take shallow or deep breaths? Do you breathe from your chest or your abdomen? Your breathing is an automatic function of your nervous system. It is easy to take for granted this simple mechanism that brings your mind, body, and soul life energy. As you breathe air in and out of your body, you are also breathing in and moving energy within your soul in a rhythm with the universe.

When life becomes overwhelming and stressful, you may have inadvertently trained your body to breathe with the rhythm of these stressful responses leading to shallow breaths that fail to fill your soul with positive energy. You can learn how to relax and retrain your breathing patterns so that your soul connects to healing and rejuvenating energy.

Find times throughout the day to focus on how you are holding stress within your body, to feel the movement of the air in and out of your lungs, and to sense what emotions and mental blocks may be preventing you from fully accepting your soul and taking care of you. Increase your awareness and breathe in the energy that provides balance for your soul.

 

5 Steps to Breathe for Peace and Balance:

1. Make You a Priority

Choose a few minutes every day to make your health and energy a priority. During this precious time, make a note of how you feel physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. If there is anything missing in one of these areas, ask your soul what you need to heal. Your soul knows the answer, and it is unique to you.

2. Practice Breathing

Play healing music or sit outside in nature and reconnect to your soul. Practice breathing from your belly. Practice breathing as though you are taking in the abundant energy of the universe specifically designed for your soul. Over time, it will become easier to tap into this simple slow pace of life.

3. Notice the Quiet

As your soul learns to breathe again and take little pauses to just be present, notice that there are longer gaps of silence. Your soul brightens with each of these moments. You do not need to fill the quiet space, just be you, just sit and feel your soul. Your soul is free in the quiet. Your soul is finding peace.

4. Plan for Challenges

Know that the greatest power you have as a soul is to overcome challenges, and you overcome the hard times by bringing out your inner soul strength. This soul strength builds from the breaths of positive energy you allow for your soul. Breathe in to create the strength that paves the way for your soul.

5. You Are the Peace

Your soul is peace. Life is just a learning experience, a distraction to who you really are at the soul level. Underneath the deadlines, the expectations, and the daily grind of life, your soul is peace, and you can find this balance again by breathing in the energy that aligns with your soul. Belly Breathing for Your Soul

In the practice of belly breathing, start by slowly breathing in through your nose, and as you do this, place a hand on your belly and notice the air expand in the space of your belly pushing your abdomen out. If you are doing this correctly, you should notice the movement in your belly, not your chest. During the exhale, breathe out through your mouth slowly allowing your belly to relax and shrink to a normal size. You can also practice belly breathing by holding counts of 5 to 10 seconds after breathing air into your belly and then slowly releasing this air. Visualize the air you are breathing in and out by imagining beautiful healing energy coming into your body, and as you breathe out, imagine releasing stagnant energy or any fears or worries that no longer serve your soul.

If you are a sending out too much energy in your healing work and overcommitting to clients, events, and opportunities than you may be neglecting the energy balance in your soul. Yes, there are great deeds needing completion in this lifetime and many ways that lightworkers can spread their love and light, but you must nurture your own soul first before you can fully connect to the souls who need your great wisdom.

Tips for Living a Balanced Life as a Lightworker

1. Establish Boundaries

Know what your boundaries are when working with clients or performing work for others. Although you may have this burning desire to save the world in one day, you are simply the conduit and connector to the light. Every soul needs to find their own way, and by allowing this energy to naturally flow, you keep yourself protected from the situations of other souls while still helping and assisting with the process of healing.

2. Take Time to Unwind

Establish a daily and weekly routine and set aside sacred time for you, your soul. Allow time for your soul to heal, to relax, and to connect to your higher wisdom. As a lightworker it is easy to become consumed by going to the next appointment, meeting, or event, but it is in the silence and stillness within your soul where you can reset, and this is what helps you to be a grounded and balanced lightworker for other souls.

3. Follow Your Flow

Connect back often with the flow of energy that feels good to your soul and radiates love from your heart. Let the flow of life carry you to the next opportunities and do not allow expectations or the beliefs of others to determine what path you take as a lightworker. Your soul knows what is right for you in each moment. Carry this energy flow with you each day as this shines your light brighter on the world.

4. Attune to You

Listen to your intuitive heart and know when you need to rest, when you need to play and have fun, and when you need to connect with other lightworkers and spiritual teachers. Take time to diverge from your normal activities to connect with joy, laughter, and creativity. Be Strong and Believe Even During the Challenging Times

Positive thinking has been a popular topic in the last few years. You would think that I am 100% a positive person all the time since I have a background in psychology, but I am human! Everybody has their moments when things are not going quite right. We get inpatient and frustrated and lose our cool or we start thinking about all the negative things that could happen in a certain situation. Even worse, if one or two things go bad, we start to BELIEVE that all things thereafter will follow on that course.

Direction of Your Soul

It is important to stop every now and then and take an assessment of where our thoughts and beliefs are leading us. Are we headed in the direction we really want to go or are we distracted by the chaos of life? I think the hardest part of thinking positively is not just changing your thoughts to believe in better outcomes and having love for yourself and family and friends despite all the junk that goes on, but thinking positively when nothing seems to be going well.

How do you laugh, love, and smile even when it is raining and storming outside? How do you keep moving on a positive forward track when you have never seen a rainbow? You take steps towards LOVE.

The Wisdom of the Soul

One way to look at the hard times in life is to look at those moments as our greatest teachers of wisdom. We are not on this earth just to stagnate and remain still. Growing, learning, and developing connections to others is part of how we change and become better humans and better souls. Some of the bad stuff that happens in life is difficult and challenging that is true, but if we let ourselves remain in that state of thinking that only bad things happen in life, then how will we ever believe that the sun will come out again?

Power of Love

The most amazing strength that our souls have is the ability to believe in the power of love and healing even when we are hurting the most. If we can activate our abilities to use positive thinking and beliefs such as “I am healthy,” “I am strong,” or “I can do anything,” then we are allowing our souls to not only heal and release old pain and trauma, but we are building a new future that revolves around our greatest good for ourselves and the world. I think we can overcome the bad times and find a positive view of life both in the sun and in the rain. Don’t stop believing because you can make it through anything!
